Lisa Truax Exhibits at Lillian Davis Hogan Galleries

The spring exhibit schedule at SMU's Lillian Davis Hogan Galleries will feature the work of SMU faculty and students. After the conclusion of the William Berry exhibit on February 20th, the work of new Department of Art and Design faculty member Lisa Schreiner Truax will be featured in a show entitled "Synthetic Harmony".

The show runs February 24 - March 27th, with an opening reception held February 24th from 4:00-6:00 p.m.

The following two exhibits filling out the remainer of the academic year are two shows encompassing SMU's large graduating art class in studio art and graphic design. These exhibits will open April 2nd and April 30th. Opening receptions and show titles will be announced in the coming weeks.

Exhibit at Lillian Davis Hogan Galleries

The spring show line up at the Lillian Davis Hogan Galleries in SMU's Toner Student Center has something for everyone. The exhibition "The Eye Behind the Eye, the Art of William A. Berry" will be on view through February 20th, 2011.


This retrospective exhibit celebrates the life work of this internationally renowned artist, illustrator, and teacher. There are a range of types of work and subjects in this exhibit, including still life colored pencil drawings, portraits, and architectural drawings.


Berry did work during his career for Newsweek, The Reporter, and Esquire magazine among others. A reception will be held February 4th from 5:00-7:00 p.m. with a presentation by Dr. John Whelan of SMU's Department of Art and Design and Valerie Wedel, of Missouri Valley College, beginning at 6:15 p.m.
