Kittens, finally.

After lecturing the Art Foundations I class about not adding kittens to their designs (kind of an inside joke) we celebrated a great semester with kitten therapy on the last day of class.

Apple Fest!

Art Club braved the cold and clouds last Sunday to bring their face painting skills back to the Apple Fest, an annual celebration of Polish culture and history at the Polish Museum in Winona.

Veteran Lauren Graf helped Monika Patel learn the ropes. Thanks to both of them for their contribution to the community!

Just can't get inside today...

The outdoor portable drawing boards and stools got a lot of use today. Many art classes were taking advantage of the great weather.

This class worked on drawing Heffron Hall in the shade of a few trees on the green.

Art outdoors

They are rare, but the opportunity to go outdoors with drawing pad on a beautiful fall day is pretty nice. Here the Foundations I students are drawing architecture using 2 point perspective.

Cardinals Flocking to Taylor Richmond Benefit Auction

Two classes, AR101 Art Appreciation (Fall 2013) and ID160D ArtsCore (Spring 2014), combined forces to sculpt and paint oven baked clay cardinals.

The Cardinal trees will be up for auction at the Taylor Richmond Benefit silent auction March 13th and 14th.

Come down and support this great cause!

More carrot, less stick

One sweet incentive for many critique classes and other special events in the Art and Design department is the appearance of the big white box of Bloedoe's donuts.

Michelangelo is quoted as saying:

“If people knew how hard I had to work to gain my mastery, it would not seem so wonderful at all.”

I wonder if Florence had a Bloedoe's?
